EPDM Primer is a rubber polymer water based roofing primer, and like its name; its been specifically designed for EPDM surfaces. EPDM Rubber is extremely hard to stick to without a quality Primer. This Primer does not react with atmospheric moisture allowing it to be opened and resealed for use at a later date.

Basic Use

Primer is used to prime EPDM roofing membranes to provide improved adhesion for the Liquid Rubber RV Roof Coating and other Liquid Rubber Coatings.

Surface Preparation

All work surfaces should be clean, dry; free of dirt, dust; debris, oils; un-adhered coatings, deteriorated membranes and other contaminants that may result in a surface that is uneven or not sound. Clean the surface with Liquid RV Smart Cleaner and wipe down with acetone prior to the application of the Primer.  Primer is extremely sticky, it is best to apply on half the surface leaving a work area to stand on.  Apply Primer then top coating (ie. RV Roof coating) and then repeat on the other half where you can stand on the completed side.

  • Do not use as a membrane cleaner.
  • Talc, dust; oil, ice; snow or wet conditions inhibit good adhesion. Clean and dry surfaces are a necessity.
  • Not to be used on TPO and PVC roof membranes.
  • Install above 10C (50F) and rising
  • Do not apply later in the day if Rain or Dew is forecast

Pond issues

Loved using Liquid Rubber to coat my 20 year old pond liner! Easy to use and clean up was simply water! I also used it to coat the upper waterfall basin and waterfall that had developed significant leaking. Absolutely leak free now.
Would definitely recommend this product and have found other uses for it around the home.

I had 3 broken buckets and they said "dont worry, the product is still ok". Worst customer service and worst company in the world.

We apologize for you receiving your order in that condition and we are sending replacements. If there are any problems with your replacements please don't hesitate to contact us.

Product was thin and didn't cover

The product was very thin, took several coats (4), and then I had to put exterior house paint over it to get better coverage.

Hey Mr. Wohlfarth,
Our products are designed to be applied in multiple coats to build the thickness. Usually our customers' will apply between 3-5 coats to hit the proper coverage rate for the application.
