I love this product. We applied it 4 years ago and just decided to change the color. Applied 3 coats onto the previous layers. It helps with the heat, but on a super hot sunny day it still gets hot. It’s better than the heat when it was just wood.
I bought the white cool foot liquid rubber to paint on the squares of a Jet Dock. The dock is plastic material, black and very hot, burning our feet and bottoms.
I did a test square just to see it it would stick and if it would reduce the heat.
Not only did it stick, the temperature difference had to be 10 degrees cooler!! No more burning feet or butts 😂
Please note, we do not drive our watercraft up on the dock, so I do not know if it would hold up to that type of use. In my opinion it would not.
I thought I looked thoroughly to see if it would stick to plastic but I did not find anything. It would be nice to see that added to the website and instructions for plastic.
Liquid Rubber Cool Foot Deck & Dock Coating is a brush, roll and spray high-performance, acrylic; elastomeric coating that reduces heat transfer by up to 35% compared to regular paint. The Cool Foot Deck & Dock Coating cures into a durable, seamless; colored waterproof membrane.
Contains no solvents, is non-toxic, VOC-free, and is non-flammable. The cured membrane has excellent solar reflectivity and UV stability.
Apply minimum final thickness of 1 gallon per 40 sq ft (3.7 sq m). It should require around 3-4 heavy coats for your final membrane. High traffic areas require 1 gallon per 30 sq ft (2.8 sq m).
